Here is some haiku I wrote today after a cup of strong coffee.

A dog lies quiet
until people are near him
they jump back, startled.

A moth on my arm
blown about by the cool breeze
rests for a moment.

Cars honking loudly
choppers above shake my home
this is city life.

My nosehair frozen
dirty snow by the roadside
winter seems lifeless.

Leaves on the water
sway with the rippling tide
fish dart underneath.

My cat motionless
strips of sun dance on the floor
wind chimes play a tune.

Eight dozen bongos
shake the ground with their rhythm
barefoot and dancing.
